The living Room; a formal room in the American Home. That is the bastion of fine living. It is filled with the most formal pieces of furniture, the finest objects of art that the family has and as many delicate collectibles as possible. The furniture is upholstered in fine fabrics that are not for daily use. The best lighting, the best carpet, and the best window and wall coverings.
This definition of what is supposed to be a focal point room in any home makes the idea of actually living in this room an nondescript idea. And the use of the space an uncomfortable and unpleasing thought.
Today this type of room still has it's place in homes where this is a space that is not needed. However in most homes the living room is just that a place to live in. One well ask what has caused this transition to take place. The best and most prevalent reason is the fabric.
One of the reasons sited by most decorators is that a space becomes unlivable is due to the wrong furniture choice, in other words, the furnishings are not comfortable and secondly, the choice of fabrics. The fabric gives the impression that the room should not be used.
All of this has changed with the introduction of Sunbrella fabrics from the outdoors in! . When people think of outdoor fabrics they think of fabrics that are stiff, hard to the touch and plasticky. These descriptive words may well have been used 10 to 15 years ago when thinking of outdoor fabrics. Sunbrella uses only solution dyed fabrics, this dying process allows the colors to be locked in, so that bleaching in the fabrics is no longer a worry. The biggest difference between the outdoor fabrics and the indoor fabrics is that outdoor fabrics are fade, moisture, and stain resistant as well as very easy to clean. A cleaning agent like Acetone can be used without damaging the fabric.
High end upholsters like Brandt and Whitney have the joined the ranks of other firms in offering versatile indoor out door fabrics to their customer base. In the case of the Sunbrella fabrics that Brandt and Whitney offers these fabrics can be use for many different applications from upholstery to drapery, curtains, to bedcovers, even clothing.
The idea of Sunbrella weaving into their fabrics such treatments as UV blockers and Crypton elements allow the Discount Designer Fabrics that Brandt and Whitney carries to be very useful . These upholstery supplies are valuable in that they are widening the number of choices that a client has and makes it even more inviting for clients to do business with Brandt and Whitney where their upholstery supply and fabric supply are needed.
Sunbrella fabrics debuted in 1961 and since that time have become well known in the interior and upholstery industries. Sunbrella began in an active community where the hard wearing fabrics were most needed. Coastal communities where awnings and cushions need to withstand the rigors of the sun and the ever changing wet, marine environment became a challenge to other fabrics.
In these sunny environments the the trend toward the open sunshine soaked environments are made even more inviting with the use of Sunbrella fabrics. these fabrics and their inherent ability to remain good looking even the harshest of conditions.
The Sunbrella fabric products, upholstery fabrics, upholstery fabric supply, abd furniture upholstery fabric supply are the industries that are finding the largest uses for these performance fabrics.
The cost of these Sunbrella fabric products may be a bit higher than other upholstery fabrics because of their built in qualities. The addition of features like UV protecting, stain and water repellent make these outdoor/indoor fabrics perfect for any location in or out of the home.
The number of color choices offered by Sunbrella fabric products is amazing to say the least. the partnership between Joe Ruggiero Designer and TV host and Glen Raven have developed a line of about 500 different patterns and colors for the Sunbrella. These include Luxor III collection and the Colony collection. These upholstery and discount upholstery fabrics are all carried by Brandt and Whitney.
Every Yard of fabric that the company manufactures is highly cleanable, stain resistant, and resistant to mold and mildew and has an integrated moisture barrier. All of the Sunbrella Fabric products are approved by the US Environmental Protection Agency as disinfect-able. The company has garnered independent certifications for making green products through green chemical processes.
Although the dining rooms, family rooms and sun rooms comprise the largest usage spaces throughout the customers homes these performance fabric Sunbrella products are even finding their way into the bedrooms of many of our clients homes. From the master bedroom to the bedrooms of the children in the clients homes these fabrics are being used. The applications are appropriate in the master bedroom of any clients home however the children's bedrooms are really where these fabrics shine. The fact that these Sunbrella fabric products are cleanable, fade resistant, water repellant and come in a massive variety of colors, weights colors and patterns make them an excellent choice for the children's rooms of use in your home as a client of Brandt and whitney.
