Brandt and Whitney like many other fabric providers is staying current in its selections of floral upholstery fabrics. Sunbrella Fabrics

The living Room; a formal room in the American Home. That is the bastion of fine living. It is filled with the  most formal pieces of furniture, the finest objects of art that the family has and as many delicate collectibles as possible. The furniture is upholstered in fine fabrics that are not for daily use. The best lighting, the best carpet, and the best window and wall coverings.

This definition of what is supposed to be a focal point room in any home makes the idea of actually living in this room an nondescript idea. And the use of the space an uncomfortable and unpleasing thought.

Today this type of room still has it's place in homes where this is a space that is not needed. However in most homes the living room is just that a place to live in. One well ask what has caused this transition to take place. The best and most prevalent reason is the fabric. 

One of the reasons sited by most decorators is that a space becomes unlivable is due to the wrong furniture choice, in other words, the furnishings are not comfortable and secondly, the choice of fabrics. The fabric gives the impression that the room should not be used.  

All of this has changed with the introduction of Sunbrella fabrics from the outdoors in! . When people think of outdoor fabrics they think of fabrics that are stiff, hard to the touch and plasticky. These descriptive words may well have been used 10 to 15 years ago when thinking of outdoor fabrics. Sunbrella uses only solution dyed fabrics, this dying process allows the colors to be locked in, so that bleaching in the fabrics is no longer a worry. The biggest difference between the outdoor fabrics and the indoor fabrics is that outdoor fabrics are fade, moisture, and stain resistant as well as very easy to clean. A cleaning agent like Acetone can be used without damaging the fabric.

Brandt and Whitney carries a full line of foam and foam products to fill any order placed with us. Our foams come in a wide variety of densities and qualities. These densities and qualities are manufactured to provide the type and comfort level that you as the customer will prefer. We supply these foams to allow for a greater selection in our upholstery supplies for you our upholstery supply customer.

We believe the best way to introduce any upholstery supply customer to our line of foams is simply to explain each and give as much information as possible.

The first of these foams is our heaviest density, it is the Q35. the density of this foam is measured by the number of pounds per square inch that it will support. This foam can support 32-38 pounds per square inch. The density of this foam measures out to be 2.5-2.75. What does this mean? this means that in the re-upholstery of a piece of furniture that the use of this high quality density foam will allow for a firm and comfortable seat. This foam also insures that you, the customer, will be assured of the most comfortable and long wearing seat possible.

The second of these foams is the Q-11. This quality foam allows for a density of 2.5-2.35. Which means that the foam can support 15-20 pounds per square inch.

The next of these is the LL-32 . This foam allows for a density of 1.05-1.11. This means that the foam can support between 28-36 pounds per square inch. This is yet another wonderful upholstery supply that we here at Brandt and Whitney can supply for our upholstery supply customer.

The next foam that is offered is the R-17. This foam allows for a density of 1.05-1.10. This means that the foam can support 16.21 pounds per square inch. This foam is supplied as yet another selection that an upholstery supply and Decorative Discount Fabric customer can choose from at Brandt and Whitney.

The next of these foams is what is called Dry Fast. This foam has a density of 1.8. This means that this foam can support 30-35 pounds per square inch. the other additional point that bears mentioning about this foam is that it is used for outdoor seating applications where the wicking away of moisture is a necessity. The dry weave foam allows for quicker use of the outdoor furniture piece than with traditional foams. This is yet another reason to purchase your discount decorative fabrics and upholstery supplies from Brandt and Whitney.

Brandt and Whitney also has a wonderful line of the memory foams. We carry a number 3 Viscowhich runs in the 2 inch depth as well as the 3 inch depth the number 4 Visco and the number 5 visco each in the 2 inch and the 4 inch. This product can be supplied in a sheet only price. However we here at Brandt and Whitney are ready to make any of these foams fit your personal order.

The next of the upholstery supply is the Dacron product. This product can be purchased in roll form and in .05, 1.02, 1.05 and above. These products are once again a product that Brandt and Whitney supplies to its upholstery and upholstery supply customers.

These beautiful functional fabrics come in a variety of colors and styles to suite most any application.
